Leadership

After 15 years of faithful service, Pastor Steve Cavallaro resigned on April 30, 2025 to make way for another future pastor. Our services continue as usual, and they are now served by men from the Arizona Presbytery. We are grateful for the help during this time of transition, and we look forward to announcing a new pastor when the Lord provides.

Marty Beal was born and raised in Iowa where he met his wife, Judy. They have two daughters and have been in Tucson since 1998, and shortly thereafter found DSPC there they found "home". Marty was ordained as an elder in 2006 and has been faithfully serving since then both as elder and later also as treasurer. Outside of church and his work in accounting at Tucson Electric Power Company, he enjoys running, bicycling, motorcycles and watching baseball games.

Mark McCoy and his wife Suzy were born and raised in south Seattle. They've lived in Colorado, Georgia and retired in Tucson in 2013. Mark was ordained a PCA Ruling Elder in 2001 and has worshipped with Desert Springs since moving to Tucson. Mark enjoys keeping their home desert garden growing, serving with Desert Springs and regular golf outings.

Steve was born in the late 1950s and was raised in a small town near Toronto, Canada. He studied engineering and moved to the USA in the late 80’s with his wife Karen, where they started their family. Steve was led to Christ through the ministry of a Maryland PCA church to his family. Steve and Karen moved to Tucson in 1995, when they joined DSPC. Steve was ordained as a deacon in 1997 and continues to serve in many ways in the life of the church. He can frequently be found a local airports, helping with various aircraft projects and flying with his wife and dogs.

Mark was born in New Guinea to missionary parents and spent his childhood on the mission field. He quickly developed a love for flying and aviation through bush pilot activities and his father, who was also a pilot. After moving to the USA and getting formal training in aviation, he and his wife Linda, sent by DSPC, went into the mission field in Mexico where he served for 22 years. They raised three children while in the mission field and have had many fruitful years in the field. He was ordained as deacon in 2014 and is now retired, but takes great joy in using his gifts for the church. 

Randy Simmons was born in 1961 in Sacramento, CA into a Christian home. He has lived in many towns over the years, eventually settling down in Tucson where he was ordained as deacon in 2002. He and his wife Sally have two daughters and three sons who they homeschooled. Randy is an Aerospace Lab Technician at Honeywell in Oro Valley and enjoys playing guitar with the worship team when he is able.
