Summary
In this meditation for Maundy Thursday, we discover that evil in the headlines is not as different from the evil in our own hearts as we might like to think. Likewise, Judas’s betrayal is not radically different from the unbelief and opposition the other disciples showed Jesus at other times in his earthly ministry. So, Jesus’ death was necessary because it brings glory to God by showing Him to be both a Just God and a Merciful God for sinners of all shapes and sizes.
